The inauguration of the Sunday Catechism for the year 2026–27 was held on 7th June 2026 at St Joseph Vaz Church Mudipu thereby marking the beginning of the catechetical year during the 7:30am. Holy Mass. The Eucharistic celebration was offered by Rev Fr Assisi Rebello Parish Priest and Rev Fr Vikas Pereira Asst Parish Priest.
The inauguration was conducted according to the guidelines of the Mangala Jyothi, Mangalore Diocese Bible and Catechism Commission. The theme for the year, “Our Children are the Fruits of God’s Kingdom,” was highlighted, along with the biblical message: “Let the little children come to me.” (Matthew 19:13–15)
During the inauguration ceremony, four pairs of parents along with their children represented the entire parish community's families. Catechism teachers, parents, children, and the Parish Priest joined in the Eucharistic procession. Prior to the Holy Mass, the catechism year was formally inaugurated. Teachers took an oath to faithfully carry out their responsibilities and to grow in faith and values.
Also SSLC and 2nd PUC top scorers of the Parish childrens were Felicitated on behalf Parish community.
