Monthifest is celebrated with joy at Mudipu church
The feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary Monthifest was celebrated at St Joseph Vaz Church Mudipu on 8 September 2021 at 8:30am following the covid protocol. Rev Fr Assisi Rebello the Parish Priest Blessed the new corn and presided over the solemn Eucharistic celebration. Children offered flowers to Mother Mary along with the elders .Fr Richard D Souza Asst parish priest, preached the homily .He said life is a Gift from God that we receive from the womb our mother , lived in a family , nurtured by the mother earth , flourished with our culture and made holy by the Scriptures , Sacraments , and teaching of the Catholic Church. Mother Mary protects and intercedes for us always. Rosary is a powerful instrument to seek the her intercession and go to Jesus.
After the Mass the students of the parish who secured distinctions were honoured .The certificate with medals were distributed to the winners of collage competition conducted by ICYM , Mudipu.
At the end all were given the new corn and sugar cane.
The liturgy was conducted by the women since the day is directed to girl child.
Parish Council Vice President Mr. Naveen D Souza, Secretary Dr. Irene Vegas, all the parish council members took the lead in celebration of the great event.
