St Joseph Vaz, an inspiration to build the families of Faith Bishop Peter Paul.
Most Rev Dr Peter Paul Saldanha , Bishop of Mangalore presided over solemn Eucharistic celebration on 3rd December 2021 at 10:30 am. Fr Assisi Rebello , the Parish Priest and Shrine Director, Fr Richard D Souza , the Asst Parish Priest Mudipu church, Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr Naveen D Souza and the Secretary Dr Irene Veigas along shrine committee and PPC members extended a solemn welcome to Bishop to the shrine. Bishop in his homily explained the need of building the families of faith and how St Joseph Vaz became an inspiration for the people of his time to form the families with strong Catholic faith.
Bishop honoured the donors with candles and blessed them for their generosity.
Very Rev Fr Cyprian Pinto, Vicar Forane, St Joseph Vaz Vicariate, Fr Roshan Asst Parish Priest Permannur church, along with Deacon Vivek Deepak Pinto celebrated the solemn Eucharist.
Fr Vijay Machado, the Director of Mangala Jyothi , compered the liturgical celebration.
Fr Assisi Rebello , the Parish Priest thanked the devotees.
The second Eucharistic celebration of the day at 4pm was presided over by Fr Richard D Souza, Asst Parish Priest Mudipu in Kannada language. The last solemn Eucharist at 6pm was presided over by Fr Archie Gonsalves from Rhyshivana Ranipura along with Fr Assisi Rebello the Parish Priest.
All the devotees were served the meals. Hundreds of devotees came to shrine offered prayers.
Shri U.T Khadar Mangalore Constituency visited the shrine and conveyed his wishes for the feast.
Mrs Mamatha Gatty Ex Zilla Panchayath President visited the shrine extended her wishes.
